phone poem

[feminism]
perhaps the universe is a girl
because in this world of man
I still see a feminine touch.
I see beauty in the world
and wonder in the skies of sun and moon.
since the beginning of time and space,
since the beginning of the world
women have been the backbone.
so who are the close minded people to say we're the downfall.
while you were off fighting pointless wars
she applied her lipstick and took care of the kids, economy, and the world itself.
she didn't need the physical strength
she didn't need the height
what she needed was less oppression.
you came back from the war expecting a sandwich and a pleasing wife
noticing she was wearing "too much makeup"
and when she went natural you shouted she was disgusting.
you can never be happy with her.
she's either too much or too little.
youre baffled because she's emotional.
that's why she can't run the government
or make decisions on her own.
you're afraid to give her the right to her own body
because she'll never think rationally
yet you hover your finger above the nuclear codes to release an explosion at the very disagreement of ideals.
but you're right,
I'll go back to the kitchen now.
